With more than twenty-five years of fiduciary and private banking experience, Mr. Weir has special expertise in the area of family owned business, including estate planning, management succession and business transition, corporate governance, and business valuation.

Prior to joining Management Planning, Mr. Weir was with BankBoston's Private Bank, where he was Manager of the Closely Held Investments Group. In that capacity, he was responsible for the management of a $1.75 billion dollar portfolio of investments for a variety of trust clients. In addition, he was Chairman of BankBoston's Closely Held Asset Review Committee. He also held board of director positions in several family-owned companies.

Mr. Weir is a member of the National Trust Closely Held Business Association and the Family Firm Institute. He is a lecturer on the management of closely held assets in trusts and estates for the New England School of Banking, Williams College, and is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Counsel. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University.

Mr. Weir is also the author of a chapter on trust administration of non-marketable investments in Understanding and Using Trusts, published December 2001 by MCLE (Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education). He has been a speaker on valuation issues and Tax Court updates at a number of professional seminars.
